In 343, the Anternian Empire, as a result of the previous war Anternian emperor Julio would create three provinces, Mishalik, Bartenik and Mishak (Present-day Manar, Lagoacita and Inysta respectively). The Anternians would name the region occupied by these three provinces Ahi Ternia ("Foreign Land").

By 456, Empress Martina would be selected by the plebian council, she would foresee initial plans for the integration of Ahi Ternia, being instrumental for the socioeconomic development of the region, building many of its roads and pathways and implementing Anternian as a language of governance throughout the whole region. The Delvik population would also mix with the Anternians, which would adopt the Anternian language and religion which ended up merging with the local faith into a syncretism. Many new cities would be founded during this era of governance, such as Lagoacita and Inysta, they would be built in the Anternian style, with temples and forums being prevalent. Martina would implement a system of trade with the neighboring state of Kentronik that would force its various nobles and clergymen to learn the language, and eventually forcing its expansion to its nobility, economically strong-arming it into Anterniazing. Throughout the coming decades, the various emperors would replicate this towards the northern Devnik kingdoms, and the southern Kloresan nations.

The late 10th century would be marked by the actions of Emperor Pratik, the first and only Kentronik emperor. Pratik was fluent in Anternian and practiced the Luceroanist religion, much like the Anternian upper-class, but unlike them, Pratik envisioned a more loose system of governance for Anternia, providing each provincial governor the capability to call and field an army without requesting the empire to do so. This policy would cause the neighboring states of Bartenik and Mishak, both provinces of the Empire, to incite war against each other, as they had disagreed on border restrictions and fees for their traders.

In 1038, the capital would be successfully raided by Governor Harto Leroa with aid from Azarian mercenaries, resulting in the Battle of Lucero. Leroa would declare himself emperor, and from here the other provinces of Anternia would declare him unjust and secede from the empire. Harto would try and reunite the empire through force, but this would prove unpopular as he would be usurped by the Azarian mercenaries he had hired, who would declare the Kingdom of Lucero. The province governors would as a result declare themselves the Kings or Emperors of their own province-states, as they had effectively been since Pratik's policy had taken effect.
