Ahitereiran (Ahitereirano or <span style="font-family: AnternianStandard;font-size:1.2em;">AHITEREIRANU</span> [ahitɛɾeiɾanu]) is an Anter language, originating in the Gulf of Kloresa. It is an official language of Illuaq and High Kingdoms of Alaxia and previously Ahitereira-Koresa. It has approximately 188.3 million speakers, with the majority learning it as a second language. Ahitereiran is often credited as the direct descendant of Anternian, being the closest to it.

Italian is a major East Alaxian language, being one of the official languages of the High Commonwealth. It is the second-most-widely spoken native language in East Alaxia with 68.3 million speakers and it is spoken as a second language by 120 million HKA citizens (3%). Ahitereiran is known as the language of media because of its use in much of the movie industry in Ahitereira; numerous Ahitereiran words referring to movies have become international terms taken into various languages worldwide. Its influence is also widespread in the arts and in the food and luxury goods markets.

History
Origins
During the middle ages, after the establishment of the Atomagnan Kingdom, the use of Anter was still prominent in writing, as the scholar population was versed in both the language and its writing system, but the vast majority of the population in the region, began to use a vernacular form of Anter, nowadays referred to as Vulgar Anter. This language would be unaffected by the standards put in place by most of the scholar population, having vast amounts of variation all over the coast.

As such variations of Anter spread all over the region, and after the annexation of Atomagna into Fazar, the region of Kloresa would maintain the language and continue many of its variants. The standard form of Vulgar Anter many refer to, is the Lagoas Anter, which would further spread as the region grew powerful due to its strategic lake, further intensified as the canals were built.

Belegar Wars
As Belegar grew his power in the region, his cultural influence also left an impact, with a code of law being implemented and the creation of standard structures of power, such that focused on providing further education in the region, and created a Standardized Dictionary which not only provided common ground for the various dialects that existed in Ahitereira, but also borrowed vast amounts of terms from Lothern, now taking around 30% of the vocabulary of Ahitereiran.

The Belegar wars also served to provide further institutions to the public, leading with a democratic mentality, such would be important for the later reform of the "Laws of Grammar", being then taught in the new schools of the region. This language would also be determined as the Lingua Franca by the Ahitereiran code of law, making it unitary not just to the people but also the clergy and the bourgeois. At this phase, the language is often named Lothernian-Lagon.

Modern
As independence was achieved, so was the Belegarian mindset leaving, a rise in Nationalism rose in every single part of Ahitereira, so did linguistics take a turn, as Anter terms were being brought back in a massive swing due to the many nationalist authors of the time. This would lead to what many call an Anter Renaissance, as the language would take back many of its original terms back, instead of Foreign ones. Despite this increase, a new influence of Azarian vocabulary and grammar came into the Ahitereiran language, leading to the Azarianization of Ahitereiran. At this era, the language would be finally classified as Ahitereiran.

Contemporary
Nowadays, Ahitereiran sees itself in a vast downward trend, as many choose to adopt the Exteras language, as the Inter-Lang created to further unify the High Kingdoms of Alaxia, as a way of further National Unity. Still Ahitereiran is spoken by a sizeable population, and is still an essential part of what it is to be an Ahitereiran.

Phonology
Ahitereiran PhonologyThe ancient Anternian system of consonants is still seen in the phonology of modern day Ahitereiran with the usage of /m/, /n/, /b/, /p/, /d/, /t/, /k/, /f/, /z/,/l/ ,/s/ and /r/, but also sees the various influences from the surrounding regions, such as /x/ from the Kentronik regions, the /ɲ/ from the native Kloresans and the /h/ and /ɾ/ from the Empherian peoples. With the other sounds developing naturally the language.

Notes:

*It is common for the omission of the Voiceless glottal fricative in the southern regions, specially in the Urban Koresan accent.
*The /x/ sound is often transformed into an /h/ in the Northern region of the country.
*The Terras Dialect often merges the /t͡ʃ/, /d͡ʒ/ and /ʃ/ into /ʃ/, unifying three sounds into one, losing some of its fricatives in the process. With few other differentiation happening phonetically.
Ahitereiran has a seven-vowel system, consisting of /a, ɛ, e, i, ɔ, o, u/, as well as 23 consonants (24 if you count /q/). As the direct descendant to the Anternian language it also tends to preserve many of the original words from it, leading to a rather "conservative" vocabulary.
