It has historically played a part in the trade and cultural exchange between central and west alaxia, being both the main route of access during the [[Bokanism\|bokanist conquests]], as well as the belegar wars. ==Etymology== The modern name "Jùr" comes from the [[Sinkayyi ~~Language~~language\|sinkajjì]] term of the same name, itself a corruption of the old sinkajjì '''Xhura/Xhyura''', which descends from even older '''Kxwuʼrayh''', thought to come from ''Akxwoʼnʼrayis'' ~~which could be~~roughly translated as "~~Master~~master waters", or "~~Chief~~chief waters". The [[Atlantia\|Thalatene]] name for the river, ''Kurays'', comes from the same root.
