The 2485 Election remains a controversial one in Jimarian Politics. Seen by supporters of the WP-JUF Psuedo-Coalition of the last ten years as a major betrayal, President Arhok Ulgrim began campaigning against Prime Minister Sslath months before the election, which some attribute as a major cause behind the lack of notable legislation passed in early 2485. Instead Yarn Sulok, a Human from Eke who had been rising through JUF ranks over the last decade, would be positioned as the front runner to become Prime Minister. The Worker's Party suffered a major loss of 20 seats, and the JUF received a gain of 22.

Despite the tumultuous election, the next 5 years would be relatively uneventful, the largest piece of legislation passed being an inquiry into military reforms that resulted in the production of the first stealth fighters, and with Fazarian help, improve missile defense systems in 2490.

The most important event for Jimaria in the period is usually agreed to be the death of Nuray Tsarok, who passed away in June 2488 at the age of 81. Tsarok was immensely influential in the nation, and is often accredited with creating the modern Jimarian state, between the Jimarian Language Project, the end of the Nobility, the Jimarian Nuclear Power and Weapons programs, and his part in the creation of the International Concord.

The 2490 Election saw a loss of momentum doom the LNU, with a collapse in their support going to bolster the Federal Party significantly as unfulfilled promises caused many in the Lothern regions of the country to loose faith in full independence and settle for the increased regional autonomy of the Federal Party. However some have speculated gerrymandering and voter intimidation are more to blame for the LNU's loss, as in 2495, the LNU regained most of the seats it had lost.

Ulgrim's final term was relatively prosperous for the nation, but largely uneventful. Improvements to internet by 2493 were bringing on a new era, but it would take some time for these to be fully adopted.

===Sulok Presidency (2495-Present)===

==== 2495 Jimarian National Election ====
The 2495 Election is often compared to the 2485 Election, in that almost all parties gained or lost a number of seats which brought them close to what they held a decade prior. It also featured tensions between the JUF and WP, which saw Sulok and Sslath reluctantly agree to reform the early Ulgrim era coalition arrangement, Sslath resuming his duties as Prime Minister. Kuli Nurtok Jr. Served as the frontrunner for the Federal Party, though the party ended up losing a number of seats, meanwhile Aijor Halois lead the LNU to a major victory, gaining 20 seats.

==== First Term (2495-2500) ====
After the election, tensions remained between the JUF and WP, so while they have been able to block proposals from the LNU and Federal Party, they have not been able to pass much legislation themselves. This deadlock has left many speculating if the 2500 election might see the incumbent president lose his seat for the first time in 45 years, as the people seek to compromise and put their support fully behind one of the major three parties instead of voting split ticket.
