The empire was declared following the unification of all Durbinian-speaking states by [[Karka I of Karkuss|Emperor Karka I]] in 1949. It was dissolved by the Lothyran commander Ralda during its surrender in the Beletharian wars. A new government set up in the old capital of Durbin proclaimed the Second Republic of Durbinia led by a Lothyran-aligned military officer.
