2459 High Kingdoms presidential election

The 2459 High Kingdoms presidential election was held on 13 November 2459 to elect the President and the Vice President of the High Kingdoms of Alaxia. It was held simultaneously with the some local elections. The electoral college nominated the Liberal Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, and the People's Socialist Party under the Red Bloq, to be the two run-off candidates with 456 and 293 votes respectively. The incumbent president, Clemenceau Richelieu, did not run for re-election, and subsequently endorsed the winner of the 2459 primary Kian le Avire Tyrpitz. Lily Lovedie, representative for Vreimer West, was nominated after a small Red Bloq primary, having previously come fifth in the 2454 primary. Oskar Elsaria was chosen as Tyrpitz's vice presidential nominee, while Mabel Welf was chosen as Lovedie's vice presidential nominee.
Tyrpitz would win with 50.09% of the popular vote and secured himself a five year term until 2464, although with a hostile House of Representatives. With Lovedie getting 49.91% of the vote, this was the closest election with a margin of 0.18 percentage points compared to the previous elections where the winning candidate received over 65% of the vote. Both candidates received over 80 million votes.

Pre-nominations began around the beginning of the HKA's formation in January 2447. The last pre-nomination poll was on 29 September 2449, a day before nominations opened.
Post-nominations[edit | edit source]
Nominations finished on 6 October 2449, with proper polls opening thereafter until election day on 11 November 2449.
