2500 Rikar explosion

The 2500 Rikar explosion was a disaster that occurred off the coast of Vernikia on the morning of 18 November 2500. A cargo ship, named the SS Rikar, was supplying cargo to the nation of Illuaq from the High Kingdoms of Alaxia but suddenly exploded while crossing the Vernikian waters. The disaster led to 20 deaths, with all remaining passengers having minor to severe injuries. The reason of the explosion is still unknown as the government of the High Kingdoms refused to start an investigation despite protests from the Vernikian government. The situation was then used as a casus beli to justify the HKA's entry into the Vernik War. Despite their entry, the Empherias government staged a protest against their involvement.
