The CW3 Main Battle Tank is the latest installation in the CW-series of Ceironian MBT nomenclature formally adopted in the 2450s onwards. The CW3A90 is the latest, current Main Battle Tank of the Ceironian Army - its primary objective was to replace the aging CW2 fleet in the 2470s and 80s, which was proving obsolete against Sutonesse, Solanese, Ciyugan, Fazarian and HKA armored vehicles. The CW3A90 features many new features that many other armies have not adopted - those being an <nowiki>[[Active protection system]]</nowiki> designated "COPE" to deter ATGM's and guided munitions, as well as a welded hull and turret, and modular armor systems which will see proper use in the CW3A2000-serie Prototype.

An outstanding feature of the CW3A90 MBT is its extremely high power to weight ratio - which allows it to reach speeds in excess of 55 MP/H on-road, ungoverned. It relies on a Horyuxia Motors United [H.M.U] Model-T1000M90 Multi-fuel gas-turbine for propulsion, which it is often criticized for. Many speculators state that the T1000M90 is loud and inefficient for its role - vs the competing Eglyia Motor Company D1000M85/2 Diesel engine. In reality, the T1000M90 is a higher frequency engine, making the vehicle louder at shorter ranges and quieter at longer ranges - an advantage in long-range engagements but a disadvantage in urban terrain.
