The CW-3 is a Ceironian main battle tank (MBT), first built in 2486, produced in 2489, and officially introduced to service in 2490-XY. The CW3 is the currently only-serving Ceironian MBT in service, with the previous CW2 and CW1 fleets all being sold off, scrapped, or placed into reserves. With an HP/T of ~27, the CW-3 is extremely overpowered and futureproofed, and is also one of the fastest MBT's in the world. The CWA90 is the current CW3 variant, with a CWA2000-serie Prototype currently in development by the Ceironian Armed Forces.
Production History[edit | edit source]
The CW3 Main Battle Tank is the latest installation in the CW-series of Ceironian MBT nomenclature formally adopted in the 2450s onwards. The CW3A90 is the latest, current Main Battle Tank of the Ceironian Army - its primary objective was to replace the aging CW2 fleet in the 2470s and 80s, which was proving obsolete against Sutonesse, Solanese, Ciyugan, Fazarian and HKA armored vehicles. The CW3A90 features many new features that many other armies have not adopted - those being an [[Active protection system]] designated "COPE" to deter ATGM's and guided munitions, as well as a welded hull and turret, and modular armor systems which will see proper use in the CW3A2000-serie Prototype.
An outstanding feature of the CW3A90 MBT is its extremely high power to weight ratio - which allows it to reach speeds in excess of 55 MP/H on-road when ungoverned. It relies on a Horyuxia Motors United [H.M.U] Model-T1000M90 Multi-fuel gas-turbine for propulsion, which it is often criticized for. Many speculators state that the T1000M90 is loud and inefficient for its role - vs the competing Eglyia Motor Company D1000M85/2 10-Cylinder, Multi-fuel, Twin-charged Diesel engine. In reality, the T1000M90 is a higher frequency engine, making the vehicle louder at shorter ranges and quieter at longer ranges - an advantage in long-range engagements but a disadvantage in urban terrain.
The CW3A90 is manufactured in several different factories across the entirety of Ceironia - assisted majorly by the CNIC and its factories located within Kashini, but also in Arasia City, Latango and Oceanius - this large distance between factories producing all different parts for the large machine is another major source of criticism as it delays the manufacturing process for the Ceironian Military Industrial complex.
Ceironia demonstrates several prototypes and uses the chassis of the CW3 as the basis for many vehicles, which is listed in the Variants section of this article.

- CW3A90
- Current variant of the CW3 Main Battle Tank - in use by only the Ceironian Armed Forces, the chassis is the basis of several other variants.
- CWAG90
- Self Propelled Anti-Air Gun variant based on the CW3-chassis - boasts an armament of dual 30mm autocannons, 8 250mm missile silos, and an onboard Radar suite.
- CWA-A90
- Self Propelled Howitzer operated by the Ceironian Union based on the CW3 chassis, with a 184mm primary cannon as its armament alongside 2 13.5mm MG's.
- CWR-R90
- Multiple-Launch Rocket System [MLRS] operated by the Ceironian Union based on the CW3 chassis, with 48 220mm tubes for its rockets capable of firing HEAT-Cluster, Thermobaric, HE, Smoke, and Minelet munitions.
- CW3Y91B
- Missile-launch platform operated by the Ceironian Union, with 6 500mm missile silos aboard capable of launching SRBM's, Cruise missiles, thermobaric munitions, HEAT-cluster munitions, SAM's, and more.
- CW3A2000-serie
- Currently only exists in prototype form - the new vehicle is based on the CW3 chassis, and is a future upgrade to extend the platforms lifespan to up to 2540-XY. Current pictures and videos show the commander and loader positions being scooted farther back, a large turret, additional armor, heavier load, an RCWS and a new, hard-kill active protection system. Such features indicate a potential internal autoloader for the 125mm, and the loader instead being an operator of the roof-mounted weapon platform.
- CW3AX-serie
- Currently only one exists in Arasia, possible export variant of the CW3A2000-serie when it is adopted by the Ceironian Army.
- CW3AL-serie
- Currently only a single mockup exists outside of Horyuxia. It is a heavily modified CW3 vehicle with twin 40mm autocannons, what appears to be a 40mm grenade launcher, as well as a raised central hull, and more. Current military theorists predict it to be an urban-warfare variant of the CW3. It is unknown if it is CW3A2000 or CW3A90-based.
