The '''Council of the Elite''' was the former legislature of the [[Kingdom of Empherias]] from 1973 until 2110 when it was reformed into the [[Parliament of Empherias#First House of Parliament (2110-2282)|First Parliament of Empherias]]. All members of the council were unelected, being appointed for life by the monarch or the [[Prime Minister of Empherias|Prime Minister]] subject to some veto processes, or being appointed via hereditary inheritance from a previous member's estate. Members of the council often went by the honorary suffix MCE, standing for Member of the Council of the Elite. Despite the [[Council of the Eight]] going by the same acronym, that legislatures members used the suffix MCVIII. |
