Fazar, pronounced [ˈF-ah-z-AA-r`], officially the Congressional Crown Republic of Fazar, is a country in Central Alaxia. It is the second-most populous country in Alaxia, followed by the High Kingdoms, and the most populous member state of the Democratic Middle Sea Organization. Fazar is situated along the coast of the Azarian Sea to the west, and the Fazarian sea to the south; covering an area of N/A square kilometres (N/A sq mi), with a population of over 639 million within its 100 constituent states. It borders Azyeri-Bordo and Zhar to the north, and The High Kingdoms to the east. The nation's capital is Bassal, and its financial center and largest city is Kessel; the largest urban area in Alaxia.
Various Azarian tribes have inhabited the northern parts of modern Fazar since classical antiquity. A region named Lazar was documented before 600 XY. In the 13th century, various Azarian kingdoms conquered under the banner of the Fazarian principality were united into the first Empire of Fazar. During the 16th century, the Empire of Fazar would go on to conquer more than half of the entire continent, plundering gold and looting treasuries while replacing conquered monarchies in favor of Bokanist ones as they left. Soon after a Lazarian rebellion in the north, and a serious of unfortunate events, the former Empire of Fazar would be reduced to the kingdoms of Lazar and Quadi for a century until uniting and forming the third largest empire in the region, the "Kingdom of Azyeri, Lazar and Quad" with the help of the Azyeri monarchy. Following the Belegar Wars and the dissolution of the Empire of Azyeri, Lazar and Quad in 2315 XY, the Empire of Fazar was reformed in 2389 XY. In 2395 XY, Fazar became a constitutional monarchy after a series of reforms and liberal unrest. After the first Great War, Fazar was arguably the only true victor of the conflict, having freely conquered and annexing two nations including the Empire of Lothern and annexing them with less than 30,000 casualties, solidifying themselves as a major player in international politics and the sole leader of Alaxia. The Empire would soon begin to see a series of rebellions within it's western Alaxian territories, especially within the Eulea region, which it would be occupied with subduing for the entire interwar period. Following the Second Great War, Fazar and Azyeri along with their respective colonies of Hannokar, Lothern, Noldor, Ginsukyo, Atlantia, Thraxia, East Thraxia, Urbaxia, Tsunimero and Bordo would unite to form the Fazarian dominated Imperial Combine, which was a combine of various states led by a authoritarian government known as the central committee along with her imperial highness. After the collapse of Imperial Combine due to the Eulean Movement, Fazar's former colonies would break away except for the Island nation of Hannokar which would stay beside Fazar for the following century. Fazar would form the Congressional Crown Republic of Fazar, which would become a founding member of the Democratic Middle Sea Organization. Fazar would soon see as elected positions begin to assume more power in regard to the governing of the nation, while the monarchy began to take a step back from matters of the state.
Fazar is a great power with a strong economy; it has the largest economy in Alaxia, and the world's third-largest economy by nominal GDP. As a global leader in several industrial, scientific and technological sectors, it is both the world's third-largest exporter and importer of goods. As a developed country, which ranks very high on the Xomani Development Index, it offers social security and a universal health care system, environmental protections, and a tuition-free university education. Fazar is a member of the International Concord, DMSO, WISE, ICC, and various other organizations.
