History[edit | edit source]

Various Azarian tribes have inhabited the northern parts of modern Fazar since classical antiquity. These tribes were highly nomadic, and originated from the Azyeri plains, and before that, far north in Qatesh. A region named Fazar had been documented before 600 XY.

Early Fazar (0022 XY - 1051 XY)[edit | edit source]

The Azari Tribe and The Yadzani Dynasty[edit | edit source]

The Azari Tribe was settled somewhere in modern day Ciyuga. Little is known about the tribe besides the documented figure of "Yadzan the Sabertooth" who fled the region when the Azari Tribe had been conquered by local tribes, bringing an estimated 6,000 people of Azari descent with him. This great migration took the Azari people on boats across the Adshan Sea, eventually arriving on the plains of Azyeri, founding the city of Ashalayum in present day Azyeri. Yadzan was documented to have been a benevolent leader but also a warrior as his nickname "Sabertooth" would come from. Soon enough, under the leadership of Yadzan, a large portion of the interior region of modern day Azyeri would be conquered under Azari rule. The Azari people would continue prospering and settling down, inter-marrying with locals and building magnificent cities. Yadzan's realm would find itself becoming wealthy as the Azari had controlled all trade coming from lake Adshan into the middle sea. Making the cities of this new nation quite prosperous and wealthy, as people trading, or journeying through the hills would come to the vast trade hubs of the Azari. Yadzan would soon pass away, leaving his realm to the descendants of the Yadzani Dynasty.

The Yadzani Dynasty would cement themselves as the main political force over the Azari people, establishing the Kingdom of Azaria. Within the capital of Ashalayum, various large palaces and temples would be constructed, the very first notable construction projects of the Azari. Under the dynasty's reign, the Azarians saw the introduction of contraptions and devices such as chainmail, advanced irrigation systems and an alphabet. The Azari people would too became masters of the trade of purple dyes, exporting the rare and expensive item up through lake Adshan and down into the middle sea.

This dynasty would rule all until it's collapse after the death of Sazan, a Yadzani king who would see to the expansion of Azarian kingdom from modern day Lothyran to modern day Kessel. His work would be quickly undone, crippling his empire into a dozen smaller factions.

The First Azarian Emperor[edit | edit source]

The Adzeryian Kingdom[edit | edit source]

This small kingdom was based between modern day Lazar and Quadi, occupying the city of Kessel. Though it's capital was situated within the mountains of Bokhud, making it an almost impregnatable city. The Adzeryi were a very diverse kingdom, with the Azari being the largest ethnic group but by only an estimated 20%, though the Azari people would continue to rule over the kingdom as the ruling class over the other tribes that inhabited it. Despite this, the Adzeryian Kingdom would prove successful in expanding it's realm, deeper into the plains of the Quad. This kingdom would see the introduction of the trebuchet, the first currency in central Alaxia, and the 'Palace of the Kings", a project funded by the King Hurdani to house future Adzeryian Kings, constructed by an estimated 50,000 slaves

This kingdom would soon see it's demise during the Adzeryian civil war, a conflict between two brothers over the right to rule upon their father, the late king Hurdani's passing. The civil war would lead to a weakened Adzeryian realm, one plagued with famine and a weak military. What would be left would be a hollow shell of the former Adzeryian Kingdom, one that would soon be overthrown by one of the tribes that inhabited it, the Xegodians.

The Azo-Xegodian Kingdom[edit | edit source]

The very first civilization to resemble Fazar was the Azo-Xegodian Kingdom. When the Adzeryian Kingdom was left crippled due to the civil war, Xarthanos of the Khamah tribe, otherwise known as the Xegodians would seize the moment and overthrow the Adzeryian dynasty. In the wake of the destruction of the capital of Bokhud, he would force a marriage between himself and the heiress to the Adzeryian line, cementing the new Azo-Xegodian dynasty as the central power within the new kingdom. Due to the former capital being heavily destroyed, and wanting to symbolize a rebirth for the realm, the newly self appointed king would move the capital to the far eastern city of Bozanyr.

Despite not originating from an Azarian family, King Xarthanos was quick to adopt many of the Azarian traditions and ways of life, quickly finding himself to assimilate with the people, while promoting his own people to do the same. While this was met with heavy backlash, few would dare to go against the will of Xarthanos.

Khamah (Xegodians): The Origins[edit | edit source]

The Khamah are said to have originated in the great steppes and deserts in between the Valari the Azo-Xegodian Kingdom around 0011 XY. They shared some distant assertory with original Azarian tribes but had branched off early on. Displaced by the expansions of Emperor Sazan I, They would become a war like peoples raiding nearby tribes and occasionally themselves. Due to being in a almost perpetual state of conflict they would become masters of hit and run tactic's and swift assaults. This is one of the reasons why they were able to take down the Azderyians so quickly. Due to their warrior culture and constant infighting among their people, males often died very young, which would result in prominent female figureheads within Khamah society.
