Jùr River: Difference between revisions

The modern name "Jùr" comes from the [[Sinkayyi language|sinkajjì]] term of the same name, itself a corruption of the old sinkajjì ''Xhura/Xhyura'', which descends from even older ''Kxwuʼrayh'', thought to come from ''Akxwoʼnʼrayis'' meaningroughly translated as "master waters" or "chief waters".
