He became an MP for the Socialist party during the 2473 Provisional Election, but lost it at the next 2475 Provisional Election. He took up activism and campaigning in the mean time but ultimately joined a left-wing newspaper team as a journalist in 2476. He decided to try and run again as an MP in the 2485 Provisional Election but lost. He once again ran in the 2487 Provisional Election, where he won a spot as MP, and was assigned a backbencher. After showing his potential in several parliamentary debates, he was awarded the position of Minister of Communities in a cabinet reshuffle in 2489. Following the 2491 Provisional Election, he was appointed to Minister of the Court of Empherias which he served until 2500. He was elected by the cabinet internally as the successor to Lucy King once she resigned as Prime Minister in 11 August 2500. He fought in the 2501 Provisional Election on 26 March 2501, which he lost. Afterwards, his leadership was rocky and he eventually resigned on 27 April 2502. After his resignation and during Katherine Elegsend's interim period as leader, Williamson took the position of Deputy Leader. Spencer Chamber's election of party leader saw Williamson as a moderate and pushed him into a backbencher position. Amongst a huge amount of defections in early 2503, Williamson was one of the Socialist MPs to defect to the new Labour party. During the 2506 and 2511 Provisional Elections, he actively campaigned on the Labour party and maintained an anti-Socialist party stance. After the 2511 Provisional Election, the Labour party became the official opposition and Williamson was appointed as Shadow Minister of the Cabinet Office. When Labour won a plurality in the 2515 Provisional Election, he returned to his role of Minister of the Court of Empherias.
