Katabola (Ahitereiran: katabola, English: Run Ball) is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, running with a ball. Without a qualifying term, the term Katabola on its own usually refers to the most popular Association Katabola. Sports commonly called katabola include Association Katabola; Boka Katabola; Kihsantatta and Kaşpov Katabola. These various forms of katabola share to varying extents common origins and are known as "katabola codes".

Contemporary codes of Katabola can be all traced to the codification of Katabola games at Ahitereiran universities during the early 24th Century. The influence and reach of Ahitereiran academics in Fazar, Kiavalar, Empherias, Karkuss, and Koresa led to the quick expansion of these sports at a university level. By 2348, regional variations like Kihsantatta would be created, in Kihsan, with influence from local and regional sports. In 2388, the Ahitereiran Katabola Association would be created, being the reason for Association Katabola's name, with the purpose of managing the league created in 2386. Through the 25th century the Association Katabola would become the world's largest sport.
