The Kingdom of Karkuss, commonly known as Karkuss, is a nation in southeast Alaxia. It is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, with its parliament being 2500 years old.

Pirate Republic of Aluud-Zeztani[edit | edit source]

In the west, the Pirate Republic of Aluud Zeztani was established in 1448 by Yadl Skadi, a skaven naval commander of Ircuyaga, who fled after being defeated by the Holy Alliance. The republic was established with 190 ships, loyal skavens, and stores filled with seeds to grow a new civilisation. Skadi self-appointed himself Grand Captain and eventually, the settlement on the coast grew into a bustling port, named Vhiildsawyer, meaning 'home' in the native language. Churches and temples around the city dedicated themselves to the Aluudinist variant of the Ruckenist religion.

Within thirty years, many skavens wear off pirate life and instead set up a primarily land and cavalry-based army - named Koshăuskevani, meaning the Free Skavens. These riders often split away from communities on the coast and moved into the southern steppes and forests.

Yadl Skadi died in 1486, and his closest friends and cabinet convened to elect new leadership, with three candidates stepping up and votes being tallied. A reckless privateer, Ibn Turnali, was elected the new Grand Captain, although he commits himself primarily to a foreign King. Turnali, in 1494, takes opportunity of conflict in Thraxia and moved pirate ships to make excursions into their territory. In 1499, Turnali reached a trade deal with Noldor to import gunpowder in exchange for neutrality during raids. Pirate Habn Jacq led a grand fleet in Thraxia, becoming a famous pirate legend with 50 ships to his name, in the 1580s.

While Aluud-Zeztani as a nation continued in the 2100s, many of the native Skavens were forced to flee and evacuate during Durbinian human incursions into the region - while leadership moved to more stable parts of the pirate republic in Acoria and West Alaxia. Because the republic had more success in these ventures, when the port at Vhiildsawyer was attack, not much resistance was put up and Durbinians captured the port in 1689. Skavens were a small minority in the region until more incursions, and a campaign by the newly formed Southern Empire of Karkuss, forced all of them to leave or be murdered or imprisoned by 2025. The city of Vhiildsawyer became an abandoned port city after the Skavens left, with humans preferring other major settlements nearby - with the region being not too populated. The city was renamed Sawyervel in 2028 and eventually became repopulated in small numbers by 2100. Many ancient buildings from the pirate era still remain, with many museums in the area. Ruckenism died out completely in the area by 2000, with remaining skavens adopting the language before they were forced out.

Southern Empire of Karkuss[edit | edit source]

Name: Tsalaim Klayitz Karkuss (Southern Empire of Karkuss) I know this is durbinia but stfu durbinia is entirely fail roleplay tbh so I'm changing Government Type: Southern Unification Mandate, a type of government where a publicly mandated Monarch has an endgoal of unification of the Southern World ("Tsalaimkeyam", or literally meaning Southern Lands, Tsalaim comes from the Proto-Karkussian word "Dzalaimyim" meaning "Blessed") Nation History: The nation of Karkuss was relatively United for a long time, mainly due to the government of the Southern Unification Mandate's Rule as the Majority Religion, Dzalaimyim Ikem (Proto-Karkussian is still used religious), revolves under the Mandate, proclaiming it to be the eternal order.


The creation of the Osikana Bourse Iterkian X has an ambition, a king like no other, accepting of change and heart... and also what it means to be Destined for the Southern Unification Mandate. He read about the stories of new lands from traders from multiple countries, about a new land, filled with new countries, nations and empires, and also superior technology, to this he asked his main Financial Advisors of a Company, a United Southern Company to finance a Monopoly on the "Burskudsî", the New Lands, to this, many objected due to the limited budget and the fact that having a large amount of gold and silver is enough, but 1 advisor brought up an idea: to share the risk, the company can be owned by many people owning a fraction of its "shares" which minimises the death of a company in a high risk adventure due to it being shared by many people instead of the government, making the USC like akin to a 2000s OTL private company, with this, he accepted, and began work on a Bazaar unlike any other, with Gold and Silver traded at a fluctuating amount, alongside the new idea of "Shares" of many private ventures, not just the USC, who have heard about this new idea. Sooner or later, it was completed, and the Private Investors did what they did best to the USC.


The empire was declared following the unification of all Durbinian-speaking states by Emperor Karka I in 1999. It was dissolved by the Lothyran commander Ralda during its surrender in the Beletharian wars in 2339. A new government set up in the old capital of Durbin and proclaimed the Second Republic of Durbinia led by a Lothyran-aligned military officer.

Second Republic of Durbinia[edit | edit source]

Surrendered to Lothyran during the Beleth Wars, forming the interim government, the Second Republic of Durbinia in 2339. As Lothyran prepared for withdrawal in late 2360, higher ups in the republic debated restoring the old Southern Empire but decided not to. Lothyran influence remained for many years, but as the Republican regime was toppled in Lothyran in 2388, the government found it necessary to distance itself. Several reforms were passed to stop the Lothyran language being used as a 'lingua franca' in government, it outlawed the use of the Lothyran currency and completely cut off financial aid, and the senate debated bringing back the monarchy - albeit in a figurehead capacity. Reforms began, pushed heavily by the New Guard Party, who wanted a constitutional monarchy in place. The Republic was dissolved in 2392.

Kingdom of Karkuss[edit | edit source]

The Kingdom of Karkuss was proclaimed on the coronation of King Teldurian I in 2392. Teldurian I died in 2401 aged 76 and was replaced by his eldest son Esoka-Vintorio I, nicknamed Vinnie. Vinnie eventually fell out with the new incoming 'New Guard' government and was forced to abdicate in 2402. He was replaced by his more complacent younger brother Vittorio I aged 26. Vittorio I died in 2426 at the age of 50 of a pre-existing heart condition, and was replaced by his son Teldurian II.

Teldurian II was crowned in 2426 aged 23 and died in 2500 at the old age of 97, becoming the longest reigning Durbinian monarch. He was replaced by Vittorio II, his son, who went through numerous health concerns and abdicated in 2501. The current king is Veneto I, son of Vittorio II, who was coronated in 2501 at the age of 50.
