Scarlett Isabella Alardice (born 15 September 2432, aged 94) is an Empheri writer and producer, known for her work on the television programme Tymehuis.

Career[edit | edit source]

Tymehuis as a writer (2469–2479)[edit | edit source]

As part of Season 13, the second season of the second generation, Alardice joined Tymehuis to write a 4-episode serial in 2469, The Gardens of Verdantis, which received an average of 21.3 million viewers. She was 36 turning 37 when the episodes aired.

The following season, Alardice was hired back to write a 6-episode serial. However, this was changed when she would combine her 6-episode script with Benjamin Holmes' 4-episode script to create a sole 10-episode serial. Rewrites were undertaken but Alardice maintained co-writer credit. It would air across 2470 and 2471 and was called The Cosmic Salvagers. It received an average of 21.8 million viewers.

For season 15, Alardice was contracted to write another 4-episode script named The Fight for the Oracle, which aired across 2471 and 2472. This was important as it introduced the oracles, a key plot point for the show going onwards. It received an average of 22.1 million viewers.

During season 16, Alardice was contracted to write a 7-episode serial airing across 2472 and 2473 named The Planet of Mirages. It received an average of 22.4 million viewers. After the conclusion of the season, Alardice was chosen to write the special serial airing in September 2473 consisting of 3 parts. It was named The Instruments and received an average of 23.7 million viewers.

By the beginning of season 17, Alardice's writing was being heavily praised and so she was again given two serials to write in season 17. The first was a 4-episode serial airing in late 2474 named The Crackdown, receiving 22.2 million viewers. The second was a 6-episode serial airing in early 2475 named The Monster of Vitoria, receiving 23.2 million viewers. Her second serial was a spiritually successor to the story, The Monster of Inysta, which was in the very first season of the show back in 2452–2453.

Alardice would write a 6-episode serial in the 18th season named The Daughter of the King which aired across early 2476 and received 24.4 million viewers.

Alardice would write two serials in the 19th season. The first was The Radio of Death airing in 2476 consisting of 6 episodes and receiving an average viewership of 22.1 million. Her second was Drip Drip airing in 2477 consisting of 4 episodes and receiving an average viewership of 23.1 million.

For season 20, Alardice would write the season finale. It was called The Palace of the Liegods and would wrap up elements of the ongoing plotline. It aired in 2478 consisting of 4 episodes and received an average viewership of 24.3 million.

For season 21, Alardice would write the season finale once again, but with Benjamin Holmes as her co-writer again. Lena Keating also contributed to the writing phase but was not credited. It was called The Collapse of Holmes and consisted of 7 episodes airing in 2479. It received 23.2 million average viewership.

Tymehuis as executive producer (2479)[edit | edit source]

Lena Keating and Benjamin Holmes both left the show after season 21, so when HKBC was searching for a new showrunner, Alardice was interviewed by them. They decided to commission 12 episodes as a miniseries to air in late 2479. Alardice was chosen to executively produce and script edit the show by herself. She hired Georgina Beckham to help write, but would be left to write 2 out of 4 serials of season 22. Knowing internally that HKBC was planning on resting the show for a few years after this miniseries, Alardice chose to focus primarily on this project all year. Alardice would write the premiere and finale of the season. The first serial, the premiere, was The Bad Day airing in September to October 2479 consisting of 4 episodes and receiving an average viewership of 23 million. Her second serial, the finale, was Good Night airing in December 2479 consisting of 2 episodes and receiving an average viewership of 22.9 million.

Between Tymehuis tenures[edit | edit source]

Tymehuis as executive producer (2482–2484)[edit | edit source]

After a short break, HKBC commissioned season 23 and Alardice returned as executive producer with Beckham returning as her script editor. Her sole contribution to the season would be the 4-episode serial The Six Wijs, which served as both the season finale and 30th anniversary multi-protagonist special. It aired in September 2482 and received average viewership of 28.4 million, her highest ever.

Being overwhelmed by executive producer duties, Alardice did not write for season 24 but did help Beckham script edit occasionally and was more concerned with producing. She was also concerned primarily with the production of season 25, but did contribute one 3-episode serial named The Invisible People airing from August–September 2484. It received average viewership of 26.1 million. She resigned at the end of season 25 to hand over the role to somebody else.

During her tenure, she hired many new writers who would become staples, and had achieved the highest rating season in the show's history.

Tymehuis as a writer (2485–2490)[edit | edit source]

Scarlett Alardice would remain on the show as a special adviser with the new production team during season 26, but would also pen two serials. The first was the premiere The Caves of Death consisting of 4 episodes during March 2485 which received an average viewership of 25.6 million. The second was the finale The Other World consisting of 2 episodes during September 2485 which received an average viewership of 26.9 million.

In season 27, she would write The Conquest of the Maarvils airing April – May 2486 consisting of 4 episodes with an average viewership of 25.9 million. In season 28, she would co-write with Georgina Beckham, The Heart Festival airing July – August 2487 consisting of 6 episodes with an average viewership of 24.3 million. She did not write during season 29 when the production wanted all new writers.

In season 30, she would write The Crisis of Society consisting of 3 episodes across June 2489 and received an average viewership of 31.9 million. It would talk about climate change. It was originally slated for more episodes, but they were cut due to episode limits and want to give other opportunities to returning writers. She would write a sequel to the episode in season 31 named The Poisonous Atmosphere airing between June and July 2490 consisting of 8 episodes with an average viewership of 25.9 million. She has not returned yet as of 2492.
