In the High Kingdoms of Alaxia, two by-elections were held on 15 February 2463 to elect new members of the House of Representatives for Zgjõplau and Gaupé, the 37th and 50th congressional districts of Ahitereira respectively. The by-elections were held after their incumbent representatives both died in office in December 2462.
By-elections tend to favour protest votes and are skewed for a bias against incumbency. It also has a much lower turnout than a usual election.
Zgjõplau by-election[edit | edit source]
The previous representative, Zalaşar Joa, died during a freak accident on 19 December 2462. The candidate selected for the BVP was a friend of the King's member, and did not campaign and urged his supporters to tactically vote for the King's. The Nationalist vote dropped amidst low popularity for them after significant democratic reform and a tactical voting campaign. Nationalist voters also didn't seem likely to vote in by-elections.
