The King's Collection is the first serial of the 12th season of Tymehuis. It was broadcast in four weekly parts from 7 July 2468 to 28 July 2468. It was written by executive producer Alexander Creybourne.

It aired at 18:00 WST, 17:00 IST, 16:00 KMT, on Saturday evenings with the original Empheri dub on Etv 1 in Empherias, and on HKBC 3 in the rest of the High Kingdoms of Alaxia. Grensalbourg viewers watching on Etv would be included in general High Kingdoms viewership statistics. The following day, an Exteras dub would air at 20:00 WST, 19:00 IST, 18:00 KMT on Sunday appealing to non-Empheri speakers on HKBC 1. An Ahitereiran dub would also air at 19:00 WST, 18:00 IST, 17:00 KMT on Monday on the Ahitereiran Channel 1. The originals and dubs combined within the first three days would have a combined viewership of 18.7 million people.

The serial's plot would centre around an evil time traveller named Edriege and a quest to retrieve the King of Harchot's final collection piece that was stolen by the evil traveller. This serial would also see the regeneration of the Wijs from his third to fourth incarnation.

Production[edit | edit source]

After a five-year hiatus, new executives at Etv wanted to bring back Tymehuis for a twelfth season. HKBC executives who were against the programme had moved on, and a cult following of the original programme petitioned for it to be brought back. Emmelie-Louise Waters would come on to 'advise' the show, but Alexander Creybourne would be executive producer. New writers would be prioritised, and there was an understanding that political messaging would be contained.

This was the first serial filmed in colour.

Plot and description[edit | edit source]

Part One[edit | edit source]

The episode was 22 minutes and 35 seconds long. The new use of colour allowed the colourful rainforest to come to life.

The Wijs (played by Vincent Stoker), companionless, would land on the planet Mensza in the Tymehuis. It is a landscape of dense rainforest and fauna but a strange lack of animals. He investigates the landscape and comes across a large marble pyramid-like temple cascading into the sky, with a golden tip. He approaches and is captured by royal guards there who are perplexed that somebody outside of the colonial crew is in the wild. He is sent to meet the Cecil I, the King of Harchot (Cecil McArthy), who he greets with much intrigue. Cecil I believes that the Wijs is a threat and so has him executed for treason. He regenerates from his third incarnation to his fourth incarnation (Spencer Valentine) and miraculously stays alive. Cecil I fears the power that the Wijs has and has him imprisoned in the dungeons below. The daughter of the King, Isabella, slips away to move down to the dungeon with the Wijs who she finds attractive in his new form. She is incredibly intrigued of his power and talks to him once he is imprisoned.

After talking to Isabella, the Wijs discovers that the King of Harchot rules over the planet Harchot and is on Mensza, their colonial exploitation planet, for the 100 year anniversary of the first plantation there. However, the colonialists must live within the temple or be subject to weird hallucinogenic effects side effects and possibly death by the rainforest. While they are talking, an alarm goes off as a mysterious cloaked figures runs loudly through the temple floor holding a shiny golden crown as he escapes into a massive flash and smoke effect. He has stolen one of the King's artefacts! but he has disappeared into the dangerous forest. The Wijs is summoned by the King and suggests that since he cannot die by regular means, that in exchange for his freedom he shall locate the 8th artefact of the King's Collection and return it. To make sure he doesn't run, Robbie (Robert Mitchell Thomas) would accompany him. Prince Karl, the son of the King, is very suspicious of the Wijs.

The King suggests that since Mensza has no natural animal predators, and the only danger was the plants which could be subdued by the royal guard's special weapons, it would be perfectly safe. But he tells the Wijs not to interfere in any of the resource extraction points. The Wijs' first idea is to return to the Tymehuis to analyse the location of animal cells on the planet or heat temperature, as no animals existed. However, the Tymehuis was nowhere to be found. He reviews the landscape but finds nothing but Isabella standing next to him. She has snuck out, wanting to help the Wijs on his journey, to which the Wijs allows to Robbie's objections. Robbie attempts to tell the King but his communication is jammed to which the Wijs is very confused and thinks it is linked to the sudden disappearance of the Wijs. He warns the two of them that he is very suspicious of the lack of animals on the planet and warns them that they can't be outside for too long. Robbie exclaims that the mission is too dangerous for the young princess and attempts to sprint back to the temple, but the Wijs shouts at him to stop any sudden movements. However, this warning is too late as the ground begins to rumble and the canopy of trees above him shake tremendously and a large branch slaps down and hits him to the floor. The two attempt to help Robbie but it leads to the plant life taking the Princess instead!

(30s title; 3 minute land and investigate, 1 minute capture by guards and intimidation, 4 minute audience with king, 1 minute imprisoned, 4 minute talk with Isabella, edriege escape and mission setup 4m, wijs outside and battle with plants 3m, outro 1m--- 22m total)

Robbie would join the adventure. The crew could use three facts to their advantage. The Tymehuis could analyse the makeup of the missing artefact and try to locate the resources on the planet; it could also locate animal cells to locate him due to the fact there's no animals on the planet; and the crew knew the direction that the man was running away from. The Tymehuis was struggling due to the pure size of Mensza being one of the largest terrestrial planets in the universe, which took significant time to locate any matching makeup of the artefact, and living animal scans was difficult. Instead, the Wijs localised the search in the southwest but found millions of animal cells scanned which should be impossible.

The Wijs lands the Tymehuis to take a sample in a dense part of the rainforest, but the plants would become violent and would swallow Isabella into a trap, while Robbie attempts to defend himself from a tree with his gun which only increases its aggressiveness.

Part Two[edit | edit source]

The episode was 22 minutes and 18 seconds long.

The Wijs and Robbie would manage to defend themselves before the rainforest calmed down with the capture of Isabella. Robbie called for backup and told the King that the situation was less than ideal. The Wijs brought a plant sample into the Tymehuis and analysed it and found the traces of DNA from Harchot thousands of kilometres away from the temple, meaning that something escaped. Talking to the King of Harchot, the planet was colonised just forty years ago and that anything that came from them must be forty years or younger. After multiple experiments, the Wijs notes that after introducing the rainforest fauna to guns for the first time, within an hour they had developed a similar gun-looking pelting naturality and evolved insanely quickly. He concludes that despite only being on the planet for forty years, the rainforest absorbed the Harchot DNA and has evolved very quickly to develop. He speculates that Isabella must've been taken by the rainforest for a reason and starts digging with a shovel to reach the roots. He is, however, attacked by the rainforests, so he retreats.

The Wijs and Robbie returned to the temple to inform the king, but discover the temple covered in vines and disrepair and fauna. The King of Harchot has been absorbed and is mutated to be tree-like but is unconscious. After investigating, a large crash is hard as the evil figure returns and runs to the temple's collection to take the remaining 7 artefacts. He cannot be stopped, as the rainforest decides to attack and tears the temple apart and uses the King as a puppet to attack the two. Soon, the evil figure disappears in a large bubble and the Wijs concludes that the man is using some sort of alien technology to travel in space with dematerialisation

Part Three[edit | edit source]

This episode was 23 minutes and 2 seconds long.

Robbie abandons the Wijs following the death of his King and goes berserk. Thinking that issues only began after the Wijs appeared, he blames Spencer and calls for backup from the Harchot Army. The Wijs runs back to the Tymehuis and focuses on finding and rescuing Isabella, if he still can. The Wijs decides to try and negotiate with the rainforest. The rainforest was invaded by the Harchot people, but the Wijs isn't from Harchot. He enters the forest unarmed and speaks to a large tree and asks for an audience. He asks for the return of his friend,
