Lady Elizabeth Viktoria Rose, Baroness of Gateshaven, High Royal Marquise CrS GSO GSG (30 October 2380 – 7 December 2474, aged 94), known as Elizabeth Rose, or Lady Rose, was an Empheri politician and activist who served as Prime Minister of Empherias from 2411 to 2412, and 2415 to 2424; and as Leader of the People's Socialist Party from 2398 to 2424, being it's primary founder. She was nominated to be a provisional member of parliament from 2398 to 2402 before the first post-revolutionary parliament was elected, and was elected as a member of parliament for the PSP continuously until she voluntarily stood down before the 2425 general election. She was re-elected as a member of parliament for the PSP in his first attempt in the 2441 general election before again standing down voluntarily the day before the unification referendum in 2448.

Prior to parliament, Elizabeth Rose was an activist during the revolution despite her young age. She was arrested after a large scale protest in 2396, but was let go because of her young age and lack of threat. Becoming friendly rivals with Felix D'laminet, and having a good reputation amongst fellow revolutionaries, she became one of the first members of parliaments of the new provisional government. She also helped found the People's Socialist Party, which went on to be one of the main ruling parties of Empherias throughout the 2400s. She served as the unofficial Leader of the Opposition from 2398 to 2400, and then as the official leader from 2412 to 2415. Following her resignation as Prime Minister in 2424, her successor Alice Rettels awarded her the lordship title 'Baroness of Gateshaven'. Later, once Empherias had joined the High Kingdoms of Alaxia, the Eternal King awarded her the highest honorary title, the High Royal Marquise because of her incredibly large contribution to Empherias as a state and for Alaxian social democracy.

Early Life and the Socialist Party[edit | edit source]

Rose was educated at an unknown private school and studied History and Empherian. In this private school, she was largely bullied for her absurdly wide gap between her eyes, usually called 'Sid the Sloth' by her classmates, due to this and the fact it was a private school, she advocated for socialism so that they could later on be executed by the state for treason. She spent many years of her childhood in other liberal countries before wanting to pursue activism in Empherias to introduce the beauties of socialism into the nation. She spent two years as a deputy journalist working for a national newspaper, starting at age 14. She met fellow socialist activist, Felix D'laminet who she worked with until he was arrested in 2395 for treason. She continued to write as a socialist free-lancer until at age 17, she joined the newly formed People's Populist Party, a party created by her friend Felix D'laminet to introduce more pure forms of democracy into the nation.

She spent the period of 2397-2400 working as an aid under her good friend Felix until she was 20 years old. Felix and her began having arguments over the type of ideology that the Populists should have, and therefore Rose began her own political party the next year named the People's Socialist Party. Her and two collaborators, Ludwig Reimes and Peter Lareatte drafted the Socialist Constitution in 2402 before the election and grew support. In the election, the Socialists achieved the third highest amount of seats, and 5% of the popular vote.

Coalition with the Populists[edit | edit source]

Following their showing at the election, the Populists failed to win a majority of seats. Felix D'laminet expressed interest in rekindling the friendship with Elizabeth Rose and both made compromises to create a large coalition to keep the Populists in power. Elizabeth Rose was made Deputy Prime Minister as part of this coalition deal. Elizabeth Rose spent most of the time as Deputy Prime Minister hosting many speeches and writing three books: "The Ideal Life of a Socialist", "The Socialist Future" and, "The Daily Struggle", released in 2403, 2404 and 2406 respectively. She is credited at using her platform to increase the support for a more based and equal state of socialism, with larger governments and this showed in the 2407 election.

The 2407 election gave the Socialists an increase of 55 seats from their previous 25 to 80. This boosted their power tremendously and kept their coalition with the Populists, now more needed than ever. Their share of the vote increased 17% from 5% to 22% which Elizabeth Rose hoped to increase once again. Rose published the fully complete, "Socialist Constitution" in 2408 which was a massive success in most of the nation and laid out Elizabeth Rose's hopes for a socialist government. Rose continued to do speeches and trips throughout the next few years. She also began campaigns about the legal rights of Tbekphers, similar but slightly different citizens inhabiting the Tbekien regions of the nation, full of lava fields. This gave her a lot of support in Tbekien.

One of the last acts of Prime Minister Felix D'laminet was to annex the territories of Tbekien, mainly lava fields. The Minister placed in charge would be of socialist origin, due to the coalition, and Wigfred Eghloreson joined the government. Furthermore, 25 MPs would join Parliament.

First Prime Minister Term (2411-2412)[edit | edit source]

Prime Minister Felix D'laminet resigned as Prime Minister and Leader of the Populist party on 10 Apr 2411. As deputy Prime Minister, Elizabeth Rose was immediately sworn in as successor and Prime Minister. As she was inheriting the whole unchanged Parliament, her party of the Socialists only controlled 80 seats out of a possible 325, making it practically impossible to pass legislature. Despite this, she continued to campaign for the socialists. Her first term saw her oversee the continuation of the First World War across the whole world and she was in power when the Rijkdottir declared neutrality for the nation.

One of her major contributions was her commitment to end the "Military Technology Sharing Treaty with the Hveden Federation". This had been originally set up under D'laminet to gain the latest army technologies in exchange for a commitment to the Hveden Federation that it could command the Empherias army, 70 thousand strong, at any point it wanted. Rose ended this as it threatened the nation's sovereignty, but also the nation's neutrality. The end of the deal also broke a mutual-military access pact. Parliament created backlash at this decision, but no major vote was made to reverse it as the Populists were split between a neutral foreign policy, and an interventionist foreign policy.

Later in September, Rose signed the "Act of Lava Field & People Collaboration Mission" which primarily sought to begin research into the large amount of lava fields found in Tbekien. The act would also allow for resource exploitation such as mining, and begin research into housing developments and safety near or on lava fields and how to communicate with suspected life within the lava fields. Rose then announced that all universities would be available to global students at the same rates to encourage education immigration; Tbekien citizens were all given legal citizenship and status; An act that would put all immigrants and peoples within the nation at the same level in law and began information campaigns to discourage emigration to outside the local HEK alliance. Elizabeth Rose, alongside Populist Minister of Foreign Affairs Alice Rettels would negotiate deals with Ahitereira-Koresa and Karkuss to gain embassies in their capitals and for embassies of theirs to be placed in our capital.
