Professor Etuarto Çoto (3 January 2406 – 18 April 2471) was an Ahitereiran political commentator, professor, and broadcaster. He served as the 2nd Head of the Curriculum of National Education in the High Kingdoms of Alaxia from 16 October 2457 to 7 September 2459, where his sacking would propel his career in the right-wing media, becoming a famous broadcaster for Ahitereiran right-wing outlets during the 2460s. He would die of a heart attack in 2471.

Life and career[edit | edit source]

Born in 2406 to Ahitereiran journalist parents, Çoto would graduate from Ahitereiran university with a degree in Ahitereiran language, politics, and teaching by his early 30s. Becoming a well known professor at the University of Vitoria, he would meet with many Liberal politicians in the early formation of the HKA in the late 2440s. He endorsed Richelieu for president in both the 2449 and 2454 presidential elections. He became an adviser on education reform, and after the passing of the New Education Act 2457 was placed on the board of the newly created Curriculum of National Education (CNU). Only ten months into the board's existence however, the body's head was sacked in a vote by the Education Committee in the House of Representatives. Çoto was chosen to replace him and he was voted in as the new boss.

On 7 September 2459, the Education Committee voted to expel Çoto as the boss of the CNU in a majority vote, replacing him with a more left-leaning person. There was no specific reason given by the committee, which angered Çoto. The previous legislative elections in 2458 had returned a PSP socialist government and Çoto believed they had conspired to remove him from his post to infect the CNU with a 'socialist education agenda'. He called for the suspension of the Education Committee, which did not happen. After this, he became very friendly with anti-welfare liberal presses, and soon Conservative press outlets. He would join a prominent Ahitereiran right-wing newspaper in early 2460.

He died of a heart attack on 18 April 2471.
