Grensal Republic
Republic of Grensalbourg, known primarily as the Grensal Republic, and sometimes the Mijguer Republic, is a defunct political entity that broke away from Grensalbourg in August 2490, before being invaded and dissolved in July 2491. Anti-Empher sentiment began in Grensalbourg from the minority group of Palaks, prevalent in some major cities, the mountainous north, and the east near the Palakkinen border. Furthermore, Republican sentiment against the Empheri royal family, as well as the looming personal union with the Hveden Federation, saw the 2489–2490 Grensalbourg personal union protests begin, followed by the Grensalbourg Civil War. Government action from Grensalbourg was few because of a hung parliament and some MPs causing more chaos by withdrawing the chamber in protest. The Grensal Republic was established on the opposite bank of the Ewynn around the city of Mijguer, giving it's nickname. With the elections of the Liberal party to the Grensalbourg parliament in 2491, the government finally took firm action and sent in military with aid from the Hveden government.
