The People's Populist Party of Empherias, more commonly known as the Populists was a left-wing political party that was anti-establishment in the Kingdom of Empherias. Stemming from a group responsible for the 2395 Revolution, it was established as a response to D'laminet's mandate to form a government by Rijkdottir Abigail. It was later dissolved in 2417 due to internal fighting over ideology, other political circumstances, poor leadership and recent electoral defeats and embarrassments. Many members would go onto to join the rival Socialist party, particularly its final leader Alice Rettels who would become a Socialist Prime Minister between 2424 and 2433. It's legacy is high for it's success in transforming the country into a more liberal and free democracy. The Pro-Kloresan Socialist Party when it was created in 2447 insisted on using the Populist's colour schemes to increase it's chances of electoral success. The New Labour Party established in 2501 did similar things. Both of these successor parties received good electoral success with the PKSP being elected in the 2448 and 2449 elections, and the Labour party being elected in the 2515 and 2519 elections.
