It was held simultaneously with the some local elections. The electoral college nominated the Liberal Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, and the People's Socialist Party under the Red Bloq, to be the two run-off candidates. The incumbent president, Clemenceau Richelieu, was renominated for the Liberals despite being Kiavalari. Amina–Layla Ward, representative for Gateshaven East and Nieuwbourg, was selected as the PSP candidate in the primary.
