Mrs Katelyn Olivia Roberts (30 September 2405 – 10 May 2498) was an Empheri politician who served as Prime Minister of Empherias from 2441 to 2447. She also served as the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives of the High Kingdoms of Alaxia from 2449 to 2456, leading the Crimson Coalition. She was a member of the parliament of Empherias from 2432 to 2449, as part of the People's Socialist Party, and the representative for Georgina in the House of Representatives from 2449 to 2467.

Career[edit | edit source]

In the Parliament of Empherias[edit | edit source]

Roberts became a Member of Parliament in Empherias after the 2432 general election running under the People's Socialist Party. Following prime minister Alice Rettels' resignation in April 2433, Roberts would run to take over and thanks to her excellent oral skills would end up finishing in 2nd place in the ensuing leadership contest - losing to Edward Broedesmore. However, her superiority over cabinet members such as Charlotte Regel and Ludwig Reimes and threat as a rival would see Roberts placed in the cabinet as the prime minister's chief spokesperson.

Broedesmore would resign as leader of the party following his defeat in the 2435 general election and would be replaced by Millie Stewart. Under Stewart's leadership, Roberts would be appointed to all three major departments in the shadow cabinet, first being Shadow Foreign Minister from 2435 to 2436, then Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2436 to 2438, then the Shadow Minister of Housing from 2438 to 2439. She was also the Chief Electoral Strategist Adviser from 2438 to 2440, overseeing the 2440 general election defeat. Following Stewart's resignation, Roberts would run for the leadership election and was elected leader on 9 November 2440. She would then win the 2441 general election held on 21 December 2441, winning 288 seats, an increase of 31 seats from their previous result of 257 seats against the Liberals holding their 259 seats. Despite it being a minority government, Roberts became prime minister of Empherias.

Roberts negotiated an informal agreement with the Green party, who held 20 seats, to keep Roberts in power. She would win the 2445 general election, winning 36 more seats and reaching a majority of 48 seats (324 seats in parliament). Running out of steam and facing rising pressure from pro-Kloresans, she would resign on 21 December 2447, giving her position to Sofia Hopkins.

She would leave parliament at the 2449 general election on 8 September 2449.

Leader of the Opposition of the House of Representatives[edit | edit source]

2449 legislative election[edit | edit source]

Roberts decided to stand for the House of Representatives in the 2449 legislative election held on 11 November 2449. She was nudged by the People's Socialist Party who believed that having experience as a former prime minister would give the Red Bloq a boost in the polls. She stood in the Georgina constituency and would win 240,981 votes with a margin of 178,122 over second place. Achieving 50.95% of the vote, Georgina was one of the safest seats in the country. Upon her election, her former experience saw her almost unanimously appointed as the Leader of the Esperiy party. With the PSP being the largest party within the Crimson Coalition, and the Peryzi and Ahitereira-Koresa parties being subsidiaries of the Red Bloq who sponsored her, Roberts was appointed Leader of the Crimson Coalition. The coalition received 97 seats, the second largest federal bloc, and Roberts became the Shadow Premier slash Leader of the Opposition.

2452 legislative election[edit | edit source]

Roberts ran for re-election in the 2452 legislative election in Georgina. She was re-appointed Leader of the Crimson Coalition and thus the Shadow Premier unanimously.

2455 legislative election[edit | edit source]

Roberts ran for re-election in the 2455 legislative election in Georgina. She was re-appointed Leader of the Crimson Coalition and thus the Shadow Premier with some difficulty. She would step down as the leader six months into the new term on 5 April 2456. She expressed the hope that it would be another Empheri woman, but did not endorse anybody specific. Once the new leader was selected, she held an outgoing speech congratulating the new leader.

2458 legislative election[edit | edit source]

2461 legislative election[edit | edit source]

2464 legislative election[edit | edit source]

2467 legislative election[edit | edit source]

Roberts would step down prior to the 2467 legislative election and did not seek re-election. She did not handpick her successor in her seat, but did endorse them once selected. She helped campaigning in the constituency to ensure it remained a safe Red Bloq seat, which it did.

After leaving elected office[edit | edit source]

She would retire from politics in 2475
